Mason Mount has explained that new Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku doesn’t stop working hard in training or in the gym.
Lukaku re-signed for Chelsea this summer from Inter Milan to add some extra firepower in attack at Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old striker marked his second debut for the club with a goal against Arsenal,
so would love to continue in that kind of form on Saturday evening against Liverpool.
He moves to England with huge experience of playing in the Premier League,
and he’s got the all-round game to cope with the pace and physicality.
Chelsea star Mount has spoken very highly of his new teammate.
It’s no surprise to hear Lukaku is in the gym a lot because he looked super fit and strong in last weekend’s display.
“He never stops working hard in training, or in the gym,” Mount said about Lukaku.
“With his vision, his goals, it doesn’t take long to understand each other’s game. It doesn’t feel like a new guy’s come in.”
Romelu Lukaku sounds like the ultimate professional
Lukaku’s immediate impact on the Chelsea group doesn’t come as a surprise.
Belgium’s all-time leading goalscorer joins the Blues squad as a leader that will set an example to youngsters.
It helps that he instantly improves the starting XI on the pitch
and it sounds like off the pitch around the training camp he can help Thomas Tuchel’s men, too.
Lukaku is back in West London with incredible physique,
so all the hard work in the gym is obviously paying off.
It’s a clash of two titans today when he comes up against Liverpool’s Rolls-Royce centre-half Virgil van Dijk. They are two powerhouses that usually dominate opponents,
which is why it’ll be intriguing to see who comes out on top.
